Philosophy + Quality

Nothing should come at the cost of people or the Earth. — There is priceless value in the wisdom and knowledge in the ways of our ancestors, we must seek to harness it for the betterment of people and our planet. May we make it our duty and purpose to aid in the regeneration of the planet.

What you put on your body matters. — Designers play an integral role in the form, function and life cycle of each creation. The use of natural fibers, undyed or naturally dyed are aspects of our design process that aim to address and regenerate our physical relationships to textiles and their effects on our bodies and environment. The quality of textiles and garments produced bares a direct influence on our skin.

The textile and fashion industries take part as leading polluters of our environment. We started this business to provide sustainable alternatives to our wardrobe essentials, from innerwear wear to outerwear. As the skin is our largest organ, it has the ability and potential to absorb both harmful and beneficial. 

The use of natural fibers and colors in turn has the ability to nourish or heal. By creating thoughtful and sustainable designs, we hope to empower and honor the beauty and variation of the human body.

Ethics + Environmental Sustainability

Amongst just some of the negative impacts the fashion industry is infamouslly known for are: not paying fair living wages to workers, poor working conditions, child labor, environmental destruction from hazardous chemicals, plastic-derived materials, and increasing amounts of water pollution and textile waste

The Importance of Fair trade: The textile and fashion industries have arose at the cost and decline of millions of lives/livelihoods. From costs of welfare to healthcare, the industries have had and continually hold negative impacts to the people and the planet.

The Importance of Environmental Ethics: We must work towards creating a circular system that nourishes the Earth rather at the cost of it. Slow Fashion. Zero waste. No plastics. Only utilizing natural and sustainable materials. Testing biodegradability.

WHAT WE PUT ON OUR BODY MATTERS

Absorption through the skin: As the skin is the largest organ of the body, the permeable layer that is your skin absorbs harmful toxins when it is in contact with fabrics that contain chemicals of concern. 

Abrasion and breathing evaporating chemicals: Many of the chemicals used in textile processing evaporate at room temperature and we breathe them in. It is not instantaneous, as chemicals evaporate over time, sometimes over long periods of time. Microscopic fabric particles break off so you either ingest them or breathe them in.
